Hibiscus Jetski Hire - FAQ

FAQ

You might have guess it by now, but just to make sure, we are a jetski hire or boat rental business.

You can rent one or more jetskis from us for as short as 30mins to experience that rush over the waves or go for the entire day.

For a really easy activity you can come to us and start off the beach with the jetski all ready for you to set off on the water.

Got a towbar on your ute and keen to go earlier? Then opt for our increasingly popular “Tow & Go!” where you drive away one jetski on a single trailer or two jetskis on our tandem trailer.

Have fun!

You get jetski(s) and lifejacket(s) to go on the water to have fun at your heart’s desire. No guide – unless you want one – to tell you where to go and to slow down, well, apart from your passenger(s) of course! Our prices are all-inclusive for the induction, jetski(s), lifejacket(s), fuel and safety equipment.

Jetski riding is a watersport on a powerboat that moves really fast, so yes you will get wet. Ideally come in quick drying and comfortable clothing, wear a waterproof jacket or a wetsuit if you have one.

There is a toilet block with changing rooms and shower right next to the beach access and parking area at our usual launch sites at Big Manly Beach, Arkles Bay and Gulf Harbour.

YES! Absolutely! Enjoy the freedom and independence of your ride, your way. You get all the safety induction required and we make sure you know how to operate your jetski safely and competently before you go out to have fun. Everything is thought of including fuel, so the price you pay is all-inclusive.

We have 3 seater jetskis which comfortably fit two adults and a child.

No. The price is per jetski, not per person.

Our standard location of operations in Auckland is around the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, some 40mins north of Auckland CBD.  But we can operate elsewhere or come to you with our jetskis.

We normally have our jetskis on the water at Big Manly Beach, some 100m to the left when you come onto the beach at the main beach access right where the parking area is with the Manly Sailing Club building and toilet block.

Yes, we have a “Tow & Go!” option for the customer to pick up and tow the jetski away for the duration of the hire and once finished dropping the jetski back off. This can be either for a one or two jetskis on a single or tandem trailer.

The day before your jetski hire, we will advise you on which location we will be launching from in case it needs to be changed from the instructions given in your confirmation email. This will depend on the forecast for wind and weather conditions.

Absolutely, why not give it a go. We get asked about fishing off a jetski very often and it is becoming very popular amongst fishing enthusiasts. Why? Well we think it is the perfect combination of fishing as an activity many of us enjoy so much with that thrill and fun experience of a jetski ride! An excellent way to spend your next day on the water. The best time is during the winter months and we have fully kitted jetskis for fishing incl. HD fish finder and chilly bins.

Yes, the hirer must be 18 years and older to rent the jetski and all drivers must be 18 years and older to ride the jetski, however there is no age limit for passengers.

If the weather conditions are not suitable on the day of your hire, we will advise you to reschedule to another day and time that suits you.

The Hauraki Gulf is a marine park of national significance. Many of the islands of the Gulf are pest free or partially pest free. This means they are now home to some of New Zealand’s rarest and most endangered species like tuatara, takahe, shore plover and kiwi. The islands are also recovering naturally as birds reintroduce themselves to these safe havens. It is important to keep them pest free – and we need your help to protect the Hauraki Gulf!

Pest animals and plants can invade our islands by stowing away on or in your footwear, gear or boat. Insects could hide in your bag and weeds, seeds and soil could cling to your clothing and shoes.

Prepare for your trip:

    • Ensure all footwear and gear is clean and free of soil.
    • Seal up your gear & food as soon as you have finished packing and leave it closed until you reach your destination.
    • “Leave only footprints!” with all rubbish to be taken and recycled or disposed off responsibly.
