Your experience begins on the Hibiscus Coast, where your Jet Ski will be prepared and ready at the water. After being fitted with an approved life jacket, you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing, operating instructions and route information before setting off.
Travel north through the waters of the Hauraki Gulf, taking in the coastline, sheltered bays, islands and open-water scenery along the way. Your oyster tasting is arranged at a suitable coastal location or directly with the local oyster producer, depending on the package selected, access arrangements and operating conditions.

Depending on the arrangements for your booking, the tasting may take place near Scott’s Landing or another suitable waterfront location in the Mahurangi area.

For the most complete experience, arrange a producer-hosted tasting connected with a local working oyster farm.
Depending on producer availability and the package arranged, your tasting may include:

Our Yamaha VX jet skis can carry up to three people, subject to a combined maximum weight of 190 kg and suitable passenger configuration. You can also add optional extras such as a sea biscuit, fishing equipment, or a photo and video package to personalise your time on the water.
The hirer and every jet ski driver must be at least 16 years old. There is no minimum age for passengers.

1. Meet Us at the Beach
Your experience normally begins at Big Manly Beach on the Whangaparāoa Peninsula, approximately 40 minutes north of central Auckland.
2. Safety Briefing and Jet Ski Instruction
Every driver receives operating instructions and a comprehensive safety briefing.
We make sure you understand the Jet Ski controls, local navigation rules, speed restrictions, wildlife considerations and the planned route before departure.
First-time riders are welcome. You will be given time to become comfortable operating the Jet Ski before beginning the longer journey.
3. Begin Your Self-Drive Adventure
You operate the Jet Ski yourself and travel along the pre-planned route.
You will receive route information and local advice, while real-time GPS tracking and remote on-call support provide additional reassurance throughout the experience.
Final routes and stopping locations are confirmed according to the conditions on the day.
4. Enjoy Your Oyster Tasting
Stop at the pre-arranged waterfront location or meet the oyster producer for your confirmed tasting experience.

5. Return Across the Hauraki Gulf

All customised jet ski experiences depart from Big Manly Beach on the Whangaparāoa Peninsula, approximately 40 minutes north of Auckland’s CBD.
Our team will meet you at the launch area, where you’ll receive a full safety briefing and be fitted with life jackets before heading out on the water. Big Manly Beach offers easy access to the Hauraki Gulf and calm launching conditions.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled start time.

Do I operate the Jet Ski myself?
Yes. This is a supported self-drive Jet Ski experience that gives you the freedom to enjoy the adventure at your own pace.
You operate the Jet Ski yourself after receiving a comprehensive safety briefing, operating instructions and route information. Our team provides route advice, real-time GPS tracking and on-call support while you are on the water.
When the producer-hosted option is selected, the oyster producer welcomes you for the arranged tasting and shares information about the oyster-growing operation.
Do I need a licence to book a customised experience?
No boating or jet ski licence is required. Before departure our experienced team provides a full safety briefing and practical operating instructions. You will also have real-time GPS tracking with remote support throughout your self-drive experience.
What happens if the weather changes?
The route, timing or tasting location may be adjusted when necessary to protect the safety and enjoyment of everyone involved.
If conditions are unsuitable for the experience, we will arrange another suitable date or apply the cancellation and rescheduling terms for your booking.
How many people can join a customised experience?

Is this suitable for first-time riders?
Yes. First-time riders are welcome and the experience can be tailored to suit different confidence and experience levels. We provide a full safety briefing, practical riding instructions, suitable route recommendations, real-time GPS tracking and remote support while you are on the water. Longer routes remain subject to the day’s weather and sea conditions.
How long does the oyster tasting experience take?
We generally recommend allowing approximately three to four hours, including the safety briefing, coastal journey, tasting stop and return ride.
The exact duration depends on the selected package, departure point, sea conditions, tasting arrangements and route.
Do we visit a working oyster farm?
The producer hosted option may include access connected with a local working oyster farm.
Access is subject to tides, weather, farm operations, biosecurity requirements and producer availability. The exact arrangements will be confirmed before your booking.
The fresh oyster picnic option does not necessarily include access to the working farm.
Can someone join who does not eat oysters?
Yes, but please tell us before booking.
We may be able to arrange an alternative picnic option or allow the guest to participate in the jet ski journey without the oyster tasting. Alternative food options are subject to availability and must be confirmed in advance.
What happens if someone has a shellfish allergy?
Please advise us before booking if anyone in your group has a shellfish allergy or other dietary requirement.
Oysters are molluscan shellfish, and the tasting environment may not be suitable for someone with a serious allergy. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free preparation area.
Can we drink alcohol during the experience?
No. Drivers must not consume alcohol before or while operating a jet ski.
Any drinks included with a tasting must comply with our safety requirements and the arrangements confirmed for your booking. Safety always takes priority.
How many people can travel on one Jet Ski?
Our Yamaha VX jet skis can accommodate up to two adults and one child, subject to a maximum combined weight of approximately 190 kilograms.
For safety and comfort on a longer journey we restrict the load to one or two people per jet ski.
Is the experience available every day?
No. This is a specially arranged experience rather than an on-demand daily activity.
Availability depends on the weather, tides, producer schedule, farm operations and oyster supply. Advance enquiries and bookings are essential.
